GED PLANT TOUR

    LAPPING AREA                                                

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Crystal blanks are lapped to precise thickness using automated lap controllers and high grade lapping compounds.

  VACUUM METAL DEPOSITION  

 Base plating is done with the state-of-the-art S&A 5600 evaporator using cryogenics high vacuum system for ultra clean and very stable metal deposition.

                          HYBRID OSCILLATOR CIRCUIT ASSEMBLY AREA                  

Ceramic substrate containing semiconductor chips, transistors and diodes, capacitors and inductors are assembled in-house.  Interconnections on ICs and substrate are made with GEDs wire bonding capability – either by Al wedge bonding or Au ball bonding.

      

 

 

FINAL FREQUENCY ADJUSTMENT

Final frequency adjustment is performed using S&A 5400S and S&A 5250 systems

that allow automated final tuning to within 1ppm.

 

   

 

 

                                                                                                                        SEALING

Sealing capability include Resistance Projection Welding, Cold Welding and Seam Welding. Sealing is done

in an ultra-pure dry nitrogen atmosphere to meet or exceed the MIL Spec for hermeticity. GED has sealing 

capability in either Nitrogen or vacuum using anion pump to ensure absolutely no migration of oil molecules

 into the sealed atmosphere.

 

 

TEMPERATURE TESTING

GEDs equipment can test both crystals and oscillators over

extreme temperature from -55°C to 125°C and it can

perform all frequency and resistance measurements over

 temperature from commercial to military specs.

 

 

 

TCXO CALIBRATION AREA

Unique “All in One” TCXO Test and Calibration System

developed by GED.

This system shortens lead time and increase productivity.

 

 

 

                                  

MARKING

Parts are marked using a computerized

engraver with a diamond tip or laser marking.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FINAL TESTING AND QUALITY CONTROL

 GED performs 100% testing and inspection an all crystal and oscillators for all parameters.
